Designed around fresh masa creations, shareable appetizers, and bold, authentic flavours, it’s one of the most exciting lunch offerings we’ve seen in Kelowna this year.
If you’re dining with friends, start with a few plates for the table. The Hot Honey Macha Wings strike the perfect balance between sweet and spicy, tossed in chile macha sauce and finished with tajin, jicama, and cucumber. The Queso Chillango is warm, gooey, and loaded with flavour, topped with cactus jam and served with crispy tortilla chips.
For those who want to experience a little bit of everything, the Plato Garnacha is the move. This shareable platter brings together quesadillas fritas, tacos dorados, Yucatán pork ribs, crispy plantain chips, and a trio of house-made salsas that showcase exactly what Chilango does best.
Seafood lovers shouldn’t skip the Leche de Tigre, featuring fresh Pacific prawns cured in a bright citrus broth with avocado, cucumber, and crispy corn tortillas.
The Masa Creations Steal the Show
If there’s one thing Chilango does exceptionally well, it’s showcasing the beauty of fresh masa.
Their “Cocina de Maíz” section is where the magic happens.
The Pork Belly Al Pastor combines slow-cooked pork belly with grilled pineapple, avocado, and fresh cilantro on house-made corn tortillas. It’s rich, smoky, slightly sweet, and packed with flavour.
The Ribeye Costra layers tender sliced ribeye, avocado salsa, chimichurri, and radish on a crispy cheese-crusted tortilla that somehow manages to feel both comforting and elevated at the same time.
Then there’s the Huarache Con Birria.
House-made corn masa topped with rich braised beef birria, queso fresco, red onion escabeche, and a chocolate chile squash mole. It’s one of those dishes that instantly reminds you why authentic Mexican cuisine is so celebrated around the world.
Another standout is the Pollo Chipotle Dulce, pairing sweet chipotle chicken with grilled queso blanco, crispy plantain, and orange adobo salsa for a combination of flavours that’s impossible to forget.
Even the vegetarian options deserve attention. The Coliflor Tamarindo features crispy tempura cauliflower tossed in a sweet and sour tamarind glaze with black bean purée and fresh jicama, while the Huarache Con Nopales highlights grilled cactus paddle, tomato, queso fresco, and crispy chickpeas.
